Talk to your building data in ChatGPT and Claude
Econex MCP connects your energy and building data straight into the AI tools you already use. Ask for a comparison or report in natural language – and get finished Excel and Word files back in seconds.
Works with ChatGPT (Connectors) and Claude (MCP / Custom Connectors).
What is MCP – and why does it matter to you?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants connect securely to external data sources and tools. Econex MCP is one such connection: it gives ChatGPT or Claude direct, secured read access to your buildings in Econex.
In practice it means you stop exporting CSV files and pasting numbers by hand. Instead you ask the AI in plain language, and it pulls the right data from Econex itself – energy use, temperatures, ventilation, solar production, alerts and more – and builds the analysis for you.
Your data, on your terms
The AI only gets read access to the projects you grant. No data leaves your control unless you ask for it.
No new software to learn
You work in ChatGPT or Claude – the tools your team already uses every day.
Live, not static
Reports are built on real-time data from Econex, not a snapshot you exported three weeks ago.
What the AI can pull from Econex
Econex MCP exposes a set of safe tools the AI calls on your behalf. A selection of what it can reach:
Energy consumption
Hourly consumption per building, meter or zone – with optional temperature correction.
Meter overview
Every energy meter in the building, including submeters for tenants and technical loads.
Indoor climate & comfort
Temperature, CO₂ and humidity held against setpoints and comfort limits.
Ventilation
Operation and performance of ventilation units, airflows and heat recovery.
Solar production
Output from solar arrays compared with consumption and self-coverage.
Outdoor temperature
Local weather data to normalize consumption and explain deviations.
Active alerts
Open deviations and alarms in the building right now, with context and severity.
Goal progress
Status against energy targets and budget – how far you are from plan.
Tenant breakdown
Consumption and cost split per tenant, area and shared spaces.
Raw sensor data
Queries against individual points when you need to dig into the details.
Questions you can ask
You don't need to know formulas or export formats. Just describe what you want.
Get started in three steps
Setup takes minutes. You need an Econex account and an AI tool that supports MCP.
Request access
Contact Econex and we activate MCP access for your projects and give you a secure connection address and key.
Connect your AI tool
Add Econex MCP as a connector in ChatGPT or Claude. The connection is read-based and scoped to your projects.
Start asking
Ask questions in plain language. The AI pulls data from Econex and delivers analyses, tables and finished reports.
Built for control and security
Giving AI access to operational data takes trust. That's why Econex MCP is designed with clear boundaries.
Read-only access
The MCP connection can read data and build reports, but cannot change setpoints, control systems or write to your buildings.
Scoped per project
Access applies only to the projects you explicitly open. The rest of your portfolio stays out of reach.
Traceable usage
Every data pull goes through defined tools, so it's clear what is fetched – no open access to the database.
You own the data
Data stays in Econex. The AI fetches what it needs in the moment to answer your question.
Made for the people who work with the numbers
If you handle energy monitoring, operations or reporting, Econex MCP removes the manual middle step.
Energy advisors
Build tailored comparisons and benchmarking across the portfolio without waiting for data extracts.
Operations managers
Get answers on deviations and consumption in real time, and produce documentation for meetings in minutes.
Property owners
Generate board and owner reports with actual numbers – without depending on someone building them by hand.
