EconexNødlys
DALI 2-based emergency lighting central with real-time status
Econex Emergency Lighting monitors every emergency and exit luminaire in the building over DALI 2. Status, battery level and test results are read in a wired, standardised way from the converter in each luminaire. The system can run standalone or as part of Econex BMS.
How Econex Emergency Lighting works
Each luminaire is read directly over DALI 2. Status, battery level and test results come from the converter in the luminaire, so the whole system can be monitored and tested from one interface.
Wired communication
DALI 2 is a wired standard protocol. Communication runs on the same bus as the lighting control and is independent of radio.
Visualisation
Each luminaire is shown with status, battery level and any faults – in a list and placed on the building's floor plan.
Automated testing
Function and duration tests are triggered and logged automatically, with a timestamp for each result.
Features in Econex Emergency Lighting
From standardised communication over DALI 2 to visualisation, testing and logging.
Built on IEC 62386-202 for emergency lighting. Converter, battery and fault status are read directly from the luminaires, with no proprietary lock-in.
DALI is usually already installed for the lighting. Communication is wired and independent of any radio link.
Status per luminaire is gathered in a sortable list with search and a per-building fault counter. Values update in real time.
Emergency lighting status and testing are available in the browser and as an iOS app on iPhone and iPad – the same overview whether you're at the office or out in the building.
A function test, duration test or battery query can be triggered on a single luminaire or all at once. Result and timestamp are logged automatically.
Battery level, charge status, reported backup duration and lamp, ECG and converter faults are decoded from the DALI status and shown colour-coded.
Luminaires are placed on the building's floor plan with colour-coded status per luminaire. Issues are shown on the right floor and in the right room.
Because the emergency lighting uses the DALI 2 standard, there is good availability of standard products from multiple suppliers – and simpler installation, replacement and maintenance.
Monitor from PC, tablet and phone
The same emergency lighting overview in the browser on a PC, as an iOS app on iPad, and on your phone. You follow status and run tests wherever you are – at the office or out in the building.
Status per luminaire
The DALI status from each luminaire is decoded and shown in plain text, and updates in real time.
- Test result: passed or failed, distinguishing function and duration tests
- Battery status: charge level, fully charged and an alert for insufficient duration
- Hardware faults: lamp fault, ECG fault and converter fault
- Reported backup duration in minutes from the last duration test
- Timestamp of the last test result
Replace batteries as needed – not the whole fleet
With battery status per luminaire, battery packs can be replaced based on actual condition. You avoid scheduled replacement of every emergency and exit light at once, and replace only the luminaires that actually need it.
List and real-time status
The same system shown as a sortable list with search and a per-building fault counter. Each luminaire shows status, battery level and the last test result – updated in real time.
Testing and documentation
Emergency lighting must be function- and duration-tested regularly. The tests can be triggered remotely – on a single luminaire or the whole system – and results are logged automatically.
- Function test, duration test and battery status can be run on the whole system at once
- Result and battery status are logged with a timestamp
- The test log can serve as documentation of completed inspection
Automate tests, reports and alerts
You run the emergency lighting system yourself. Set intervals for function and duration tests, have reports for completed tests sent automatically, and get alerted by SMS and email the moment something fails. Tap a card to see how it is set up.
Standalone or part of Econex BMS
Econex Emergency Lighting can be delivered as a standalone central, or as a module in the Econex BMS. In both cases it uses the same data and interface.
Standalone emergency lighting central
The emergency lighting system on its own, with visualisation, testing and log.
- Complete DALI 2 emergency lighting central
- Visualisation, testing and log
- Can be extended with other BMS modules later
Part of Econex BMS
Emergency lighting in the same system as the building's other technical systems.
- Same interface as the BMS and energy monitoring
- Shares drivers, floor plans and real-time data
- Shared operation and documentation
Why DALI 2?
DALI 2 is an open standard (IEC 62386) for lighting control, with a dedicated part for emergency lighting (IEC 62386-202). The standard is widespread in Norwegian commercial buildings, so the infrastructure is often already in place.
